The principal investigator is Georgia Malandraki, associate professor in the Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences. Eligible participants who complete both visits will receive up to $50. The first visit will last around two hours and the second visit around 1.5 hours.
COHERENT ANTI STROKE PURDUE FOR FREE
Participation entails coming to the swallowing lab in Lyles-Porter Hall for free swallowing evaluations twice. Individuals may be eligible for this study if they do not have problems swallowing and do not have a history of neurological disorder. Researchers are recruiting adults who are 18-30 or 50-90 years old and are generally healthy for a study of swallowing and sensors to monitor muscle activity. Parent or caregiver is between 18 and 50 years of age.
Child has no food allergies or medical conditions.Child was born at term ( >37 weeks) and has experienced at least one complementary food (e.g., rice cereal).Child is between 9 months and 24 months of age.Individuals may be qualified to participate if they meet the following criteria: Participants will receive up to $80 in gift cards for participating. The Child Temperament and Health Lab at Purdue is recruiting families to participate in a research study looking at infants’ responses to vegetables and caregivers' decisions about offering them to their child. Participating in the study will require two study visits, which will take place virtually via Zoom. Each virtual visit will last approximately 60-90 minutes.
